WasteTracker Helps Landlords Cut Hidden Costs with New Waste Pickup Tracking

New Waste Pickups module enables Property Owners and Managers to track waste collections, verify weights and costs, and optimize schedules. The first full implementation is taking place with AFI Europe at the Office House building, part of Warsaw’s Towarowa22 superblock.

WasteTracker, the smart waste meter designed for the Commercial Real Estate sector, is introducing a new Waste Pickup module, which allows to measure precisely the volume and weight of collected waste. With this upgrade, Landlords and Property Managers gain full transparency: they can verify collection schedules, see when and by whom containers were emptied, measure exact weights, identify waste types, and confirm disposal costs. Detailed records and data analytics help uncover inefficiencies, enabling cost reductions and lowering carbon emissions.

Growing Impact

More than 120 buildings across 5 countries already rely on the WasteTracker system to measure waste generation. By delivering precise and transparent reporting, the platform has transformed waste management practices in commercial properties. The new module works independently of waste collection companies, serving as a neutral verification tool, and can be deployed in any European building within 30 days.

WasteTracker perfectly balances simplicity with complexity.” - says Renata Hartle, CEO and Co-founder of WasteTracker. - “By automating container recognition and waste-type identification, we provide an easy-to-implement solution that streamlines data collection while pinpointing inefficiencies to cut costs and reduce emissions.

With the wealth of data WasteTracker processes, Building Owners and Property Managers also gain access to benchmarks and practical insights into sustainable waste management at commercial properties. The system not only delivers reporting but also guides decision-making to help reduce waste, costs, and environmental impact.

Tackling Collection Inefficiencies

In many commercial properties, waste is collected on a fixed schedule that rarely reflects actual waste generation. This leads to unnecessary costs and avoidable CO2e emissions from transport. WasteTracker’s new functionality allows Property Managers to:

  • Track collections in real time,
  • Monitor container fill levels,
  • Optimize collection frequency and costs,
  • Generate accurate ESG reports.

AFI is a commercial Property Owner and a pioneer of sustainable solutions operating in several Central and Eastern European countries as well as in Israel. As one of the first, it is implementing the innovative Waste Pickup Module in the Office House building, part of the visionary Towarowa22 superblock in Warsaw.

“Operating costs related to utilities, including waste collection, are rising year by year. WasteTracker will allow us - and our tenants - to see exactly how much waste we generate. This knowledge will enable better pickup planning and help adjust the number of containers to real needs. We want to continuously monitor both waste generation and collection, because we understand that waste, just like any other utility in a building, requires a smart meter and constant improvement in how it’s managed.” - says Maciej Brzeziński, Senior Property Manager at AFI.
